The LORD My Banner
The Lord is a reigning banner over us all the time. The Hebrew for "banner" comes from the root word "to be high" or "raised." This was the name given to the altar that Moses erected to commemorate the defeat of the Amalekites at Rephidim (Exodus 17:8-15). He goes before us and behind us to give us the victory in all circumstances of life. Even in the midst of the battle, the banner of the Lord is raised over us. Psalm 23:5 says, "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over." Who is the God who prepares a table of celebration in the presence of the enemy? When the enemy shall come in like a flood, then shall the Lord hold up a banner before him. The victory in all of life is the Lord's.

Dwight Martin's new book
Light that Shines in Darkness
has just been released!
Check it out by clicking on the picture below:
This manuscript seeks to use the 1st Peter 2:19 reference to "light that shines in a dark place" as a metaphorical allusion to illumination and enlightenment regarding admittedly subjective observations of current conditions and other subjects.

Looking for Masks and Sanitizer Supplies?  Kathleen has shared some resources below:

The emails below are from my friend whose aunt, Helen, is former CIA and researched about which mask to buy.

Here are the two websites to look at:
1.  Face Masks which last 15 days made by Parkerdale Mills.

2.  Hand Sanitizer
I have used the following company's
(APR Bio Tech) product for hand sanitizer.

Blessed assurance

1 Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
  Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
  Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
  Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

  This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
  Praising my Savior all the day long.

2 Perfect submission, perfect delight,
  Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
  Angels descending, bring from above
  Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3 Perfect submission, all is at rest,
  I in my Savior am happy and blest;
  Watching and waiting, looking above,
  Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Jehovah Nissi "The Lord is My Banner"

Names of God Class Focus for April 2020

The Lord Is My Banner and We Are the Lord's

When Moses built the altar and called it, “The LORD is my banner,” he was creating a place of remembrance, a celebration of victory, an expression of thanks. He was making a declaration, one that any follower of Jesus can share in today: The LORD is my banner and we are the LORD’s. It was a declaration not just of who God is and what He has done, but of who were as His people.

“And Moses built an altar and named it ‘The LORD is my Banner.” -Exodus 17:15

Israel did not fight its battles alone. No matter how inexperienced or over matched they were they were never the underdogs. No matter how desperate they felt they were never at a loss. The great general, the perfect protector, the LORD was with them. The very name used in Scripture is Jehovah Nissi - "the Lord is my banner"
