Home in Glory: Honoring the Life and Faith of

Michael Mann

Michael Mann, beloved member of our Foundations Life Bible Study Class, entered the presence of His Savior on November 28, 2025. Born on July 2, 1949, Michael walked faithfully with Christ, and our class rejoiced together as he publicly declared his faith in baptism on July 10, 2022—a moment many of us remember with deep gratitude.

Michael and his wife Adriana have long been part of the heart and fabric of our class family. Their smiles, warmth, and quiet faithfulness have blessed us through the years, leaving behind memories we will treasure.

As we grieve his loss, we also celebrate the glorious truth that Michael is now fully healed, fully whole, and fully home with Jesus. What a comfort to know he has stepped into the joy of his eternal hope.

Please keep Adriana in your prayers in the days ahead. We will share service details as they become available. Until then, may we surround her with love, encouragement, and the peace Christ alone provides.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." —Psalm 116:15

The Kingdom Is Like: Part 1 - Small Things Make a Big Difference

Candlelight & Community: A Thanksgiving to Remember

On Wednesday, November 27, our class had the privilege of serving a special candlelight Thanksgiving dinner at Street Church. Amidst the soft glow, we shared hot turkey, homemade pie, and genuine fellowship with our neighbors. It was a beautiful reminder that the best part of the holiday isn’t the food—it’s the people you share it with. Thank you to everyone who helped bring light and love to the table!

Ancient Starlight: The Story of Redemption Written Above

On Sunday, Rand Wall guided us through a breathtaking tour of the night sky, revealing how the constellations may have preached the Gospel to Adam and Eve long before it was written in a book. We moved beyond modern astrology to see the original, divine story woven into the stars.

Virgo (The Virgin): The story begins here, with the virgin holding a "Branch"—a celestial promise of the seed who would come.

Libra (The Scales): In the scales, we saw a profound truth: one star signifies the "price deficient" (us), while the upper star signifies the "price which covers" (Christ's redemption). We also learned that the Southern Cross (Crux) was once visible from Jerusalem, marking the Lamb slain for us.

Scorpio (The Scorpion): While the scorpion represents the enemy and the wounding of the heel, the signs above it declare victory. We saw Ophiuchus restraining the serpent and Hercules, the mighty one, who cleanses the "filthy stables" of our hearts just as Jesus cleanses us with His blood.

As Rand reminded us, these stars aren't just distant lights; they are a proclamation of God's glory and His plan to save us.

Join Us for the Next Chapter! Don't miss the next installment of this fascinating series as we turn our eyes to Sagittarius the Archer. We look forward to seeing you there!

This Sunday: The Gospel in the Stars Continues — Discover the First Four Constellations!

This week, Rand takes us deeper into The Gospel in the Stars, beginning with the first four constellations in God’s heavenly storyline—starting right where the story opens: Virgo. From the promised Seed to the unfolding symbols written across the night sky, each constellation builds the message of redemption placed above us since creation.

If last week’s introduction stirred your curiosity, this week will take it even higher. Come discover how these ancient star patterns point us to Christ with stunning clarity and purpose.

Don’t miss it—this is where the celestial story truly begins.

BBQ Trail Stop at Blood Bros.:
A Mighty Fine Turnout

Fifteen men hit Blood Bros. BBQ on Thursday, Nov. 20, and the fellowship was as good as the brisket. A quick note of humor—Phillip and Rand ordered noodles (yes… noodles at a BBQ joint) and waited a very long time before discovering why it wasn’t exactly the meatiest dish on the menu. Great laughs, great company, and another solid stop on the BBQ Trail!

New 4-Week Series Begins Nov. 16: The Gospel in the Stars

Beginning Sunday, November 16, Rand Wall will launch a new four-lesson series titled The Gospel in the Stars—a compelling look at the night sky as God’s original picture book, intentionally designed to proclaim His plan of redemption.

For generations, believers have taught that the constellations were not random patterns or tools for fortune-telling, but a divinely crafted storyboard—a celestial sequence from Virgo to Leo that announces the promise, the struggle, the sacrifice, and the ultimate victory of the King. Before a single word of Scripture was written, God had already placed His message in the heavens for all people to see.

Over four weeks, Rand will guide us through this remarkable, ancient perspective and help us recognize how the heavens truly “declare the glory of God” and point unmistakably to His redemptive plan.

Join us as we explore the Gospel written in the stars—God’s first picture book and His timeless witness to all nations.

Foundations Logo Reveal 2025
Produced for the Foundations Bible Study Class, Houston’s First Baptist Church

The Foundations Logo Reveal 2025 video brings the class emblem to life in a cinematic way that reflects the timeless truth and enduring faith at the heart of this ministry.

Set against a dark, tranquil background, the scene opens with faint glimmers of light particles — a visual metaphor for spiritual illumination piercing the darkness. As a warm golden light breaks through, the Foundations crest begins a slow, graceful rotation, symbolizing depth, stability, and the unchanging nature of God’s Word across every generation.

The crest itself features an open Bible with radiant beams, representing revelation through Scripture. Beneath it, the cross stands as the unshakable cornerstone of faith, while the banner encircling the shield reflects unity and fellowship within the class.

Rendered in deep blue, gold, and silver, the color palette draws directly from Proverbs 25:11 — “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” This harmony of tones suggests wisdom, purity, and divine beauty.

As the emblem turns, soft illumination caresses its edges, creating a sense of divine presence — light emerging from the darkness, echoing Psalm 119:105:

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

The film concludes with the crest facing forward, fully revealed — glowing, steady, and resolute — a visual declaration of the Foundations Class mission:
Grounded in the Word. Growing in Grace.

Grounded in The Word. Growing in Grace.
