Shaping Our Soil:
A Foundations Conversation on Class Culture

On Sunday, January 4, 2026, our Foundations Class set aside regular study time to reflect on class culture—the spiritual soil in which growth takes place. Grounded in 2 Corinthians 13:11–14, the discussion focused on how Scripture shapes the way we live, care, and grow together.

Through table conversations, the class affirmed key markers of our culture: rejoicing together, aiming for restoration, encouraging one another, sharing one another’s burdens, and living in unity and peace. These values are lived out as we pray together, follow up with one another, open our lives beyond Sunday mornings, and intentionally walk alongside friends, family, and those God places in our path.

The workshop also established a new weekly rhythm—closing each class with the blessing from 2 Corinthians 13:14, sending us out reminded of Christ’s grace, God’s love, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

This time together confirmed our shared desire to grow deeper as a class and to live out our faith together with purpose and care.

Pastor's Message Sunday January 4, 2026:
The Last Days: Part 1 Knowing the Signs

This Week Pastor Gregg began a New Series:
The Last Days Part 1 – Knowing the Signs

The Gospel Written in the Heavens — The Final Chapter Revealed

This Sunday, January 11, 2026, the journey reaches its breathtaking conclusion. Rand Wall will lead Lesson 5 — the final lesson in The Gospel in the Stars, unveiling how the story written in the heavens culminates in victory, rest, and eternal union with Christ.

From Gemini, portraying the heavenly union of Christ and His Church… to Cancer, revealing the redeemed safely held and eternally secure… to Leo, where the Lion of Judah rises in triumphant judgment and final victory—

this closing lesson ties together the entire celestial narrative with clarity, reverence, and awe. The stars do not tell fortunes; they bear witness to the finished work of the Redeemer and the glorious future of His people.

Rand’s hallmark conclusion leaves us with a joyful declaration of faith: “I have been born twice.”

Do not miss this powerful and worship-filled finale—a fitting culmination to a series that has stirred hearts, strengthened faith, and lifted our eyes heavenward.

A celebration of the life of Michael Mann will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM
at Houston’s First Baptist Church.

Michael was a cherished member of our Foundations Class, and we give thanks for the faith and kindness he shared so generously. Please continue to keep Adriana in your prayers as we honor his life and rejoice in the hope of his homegoing.

The BBQ Trail Rides Again!

Sharpen your forks and loosen your belts— the Men’s BBQ Trail is back on the move! Our fearless Trail Boss Richard has scouted the territory and officially declared the next stop: January 22 at 11:22.

We’ll be gathering at Houston BBQ Company, where brisket dreams come true, sausages snap with authority, and no man leaves wondering, “Should I have ordered more?” (Yes. Yes, you should have.)

No speeches. No pressure. Just good fellowship, legendary BBQ, and the sacred brotherhood of smoked meat.

Saddle up, invite a friend, and follow the smoke!

Important Ministry Update:
Montrose Street Church

Montrose Street Church has been informed by The Charity Guild of Catholic Women that the ministry can no longer meet in the parking lot at 1206 Lovett Blvd

As a result, Thursday night Street Church services will be suspended for the month of January. This pause will allow the leadership team to seek the Lord’s direction, prayerfully explore alternative meeting locations, and discern the best path forward for continuing this important outreach ministry.

Please be in prayer for wisdom, provision, and clarity as next steps are considered—and for those we serve, that the door God opens next will be even greater than the one that has closed. Updates will be shared as soon as plans are confirmed.

An Invitation to Share What Truly Lasts

As a new year approaches, many people quietly begin asking the deeper questions of life: What really matters? What will last? Is there more to this season than simply getting by?

Chances are, someone you know is asking those very questions — a friend, neighbor, or family member who feels unsettled, reflective, or longing for clearer purpose. On January 18, our class begins a new study, The Lasting Things, a walk through the book of Ecclesiastes. Solomon’s honest reflections on joy, work, loss, success, and meaning speak powerfully to hearts searching for direction — especially in this stage of life.

This year, we’re making it easier to extend an invitation. A tri-fold series invitation is embedded below that you may print at home and share in the meantime (print in color, two-sided). Printed copies will also be available at the Welcome Center in the foyer.

Would you pray about who the Lord might place on your heart? Sometimes a simple, personal invitation — a quiet “come sit with me” — can open the door to meaningful conversation and new direction.

On Sunday, January 18, consider bringing someone along — because in the end, it’s the lasting things that matter most.

A Valentine Evening of Fellowship & Fun Love and laughter are on the calendar!
