June Focus: Peace in the Name of El Shaddai
This month, our Foundations Class is focusing on John 14:27 as our scripture memory verse:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
What a powerful promise to rest in—especially as we also meditate on our June Name of God: El Shaddai, meaning “God Almighty.”
In every season and circumstance, our peace flows from the One who is all-sufficient and unshakably strong. Let this truth anchor our heart and inspire our prayers as we grow together in faith.
Saddle Up for the Men’s BBQ Trail:
Where Brisket Meets Brotherhood!
Gents, get ready to blaze a new trail of connection, conversation, and killer BBQ.
The Foundations Class Men’s BBQ Trail is launching—a relaxed, every-other-month gathering where the only agenda is good food and even better fellowship. No lessons, no pressure—just a chance to connect with other men over slow-smoked brisket and hearty laughs.
We’re kicking things off on Tuesday, July 15, at ROEGELS (Pro: Ray Gulls) Bar-B-Q Company on Voss Road. The food’s top-notch, the atmosphere’s laid-back, and you’re invited.
Come hungry. Leave full. Bring a buddy.
This is more than a meal—it’s a movement.

Rooted in Faith, Growing in Grace
This past Sunday, Danny Reid’s lesson from Colossians 1:3–12 reminded us of Paul’s powerful prayer for a church he had never met—affirming their faith, love, and hope. Rather than offering a to-do list, Paul prayed for spiritual growth, wisdom, and endurance. Danny challenged us to follow that example: to seek God’s will, live lives worthy of Christ, and grow together in grace and truth.
Watch the video below to be encouraged and inspired by this message of faith and spiritual maturity.
Christ Above All: Discovering His Supreme Authority
This Sunday, Bill Wright will lead us through Colossians 1:13–18a, where Paul boldly proclaims the unmatched supremacy of Christ. Written to confront false teachings in the Colossian church, this passage reminds us that Jesus is not only the image of the invisible God, but the very power behind creation, the purpose of all existence, and the head of the church.
Paul’s words dismantle every claim that something more is needed beyond Christ for salvation. Jesus is enough—He is before all things, holds all things together, and reigns over every corner of creation.
Join us this week as we explore the greatness of Christ and the deep assurance that comes from being part of His eternal kingdom.
Join us midweek for a peaceful moment of worship and intercession during our Sweet Hour of Prayer on Wednesday, June 25 at 12:00 PM.
Send your praises and prayer requests to Karen before Wednesday morning so they can be included and shared for prayer time.
Whether you're pausing at home, in the office, or gathered with others, let’s lift our hearts in unity—celebrating God’s goodness and leaning on His strength together.
💬Text your requests to Karen 713-204-8384 and let’s pray together as a class family!
