Lifestyle Evangelism: Sharing Christ Through Everyday Conversations | Jerry Wiles

This past Sunday, In his lesson on Lifestyle Evangelism, Jerry Wiles shared how evangelism becomes second nature when Christ truly becomes our life. Reflecting on his personal journey, Jerry highlighted pivotal moments that led him to a deeper understanding of God's work through him. His message emphasizes that evangelism isn't just an event—it’s a lifestyle of sharing Christ through everyday interactions.

Jerry encouraged the class to be mindful of opportunities to share the gospel, whether through simple questions, meaningful conversations, or acts of kindness. By being available to the Holy Spirit and living out our faith, we open the door for God to use us in ways we might not expect.

Join us as we embrace the call to live out the gospel in our daily lives, spreading the hope and love of Christ wherever we go!

Colossians Summer Study Concludes: Embracing the Supremacy of Christ

This Sunday marks the final lesson in our Foundations Summer Study of Colossians, taught by Bill Wright. In this concluding lesson, we will reflect on the full scope of Paul’s teachings throughout the letter, emphasizing Christ's pre-eminence in every area of life. From his supreme position in creation to his role in salvation, Paul’s letter calls us to live faithfully and acknowledge Jesus as the supreme authority in our hearts and actions.

As we wrap up our study, let’s challenge ourselves to apply these teachings, ensuring Christ’s supremacy shapes our spiritual journey, relationships, and daily choices. Join us for this powerful conclusion and a time of reflection as we seek to honor Christ in all aspects of our lives.

We encourage you to bring your insights and experiences to the class, and let's end this study with a heart full of gratitude for Christ’s work in us.

Living for Christ in Everyday Life
Colossians 3:22–4:18 | Taught by Rand Wall

This past Sunday, Rand Wall brought us a rich lesson from Colossians 3:22–4:18, reminding us that faith is not limited to Sunday mornings—it is meant to be lived out in every corner of our lives.

From the workplace to the home, Paul’s instructions call us to labor “as unto the Lord,” to lead with justice and fairness, to devote ourselves to prayer with thanksgiving, and to walk wisely before unbelievers. Rand reminded us that our daily work and words become a testimony of Christ’s presence in us.

Whether you’re serving, supervising, or simply seeking to encourage others, this passage challenges us to live faithfully, gratefully, and purposefully in the everyday.

If you missed the lesson, take time this week to watch the full video and be inspired to let Christ shape your daily walk.

DONE: The Truth Religion Doesn’t Tell You

During his lesson, Rand Wall recommended Done: What Most Religions Never Tell You by Cary Schmidt—a powerful, eye-opening book that clears away the clutter of tradition and points to the simple truth about God and the purpose of life. With clarity and urgency, Schmidt addresses the questions everyone asks about faith, eternity, and what really matters. If you’ve ever wondered what’s missing in religion—or if there’s something more—this short read could change everything. Don’t miss the chance to explore it for yourself!
Lunch & Learn Recap:
Growing Our Church Through Intentional Community

This past Sunday, several members of the Foundations class joined others from across the church for a special Lunch & Learn hosted by Tim Young, Minister of Education at Houston’s First Baptist Church. The focus of the session was both timely and eye-opening: how can we, as a church and as Life Bible Study (LBS) classes, more effectively connect with the guests who are already coming through our doors?
Here is a more detailed look:

Yahweh Yireh—The Lord Will Provide

This month our class focus is on the powerful name of God, Yahweh Yireh—“The Lord Will Provide.” In every season of life, He is faithful to meet our deepest needs through His perfect wisdom and timing. Our memory verse for August, Isaiah 53:5, reminds us of the greatest provision of all:

But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed.”

Let’s hide this truth in our hearts together and trust in the God who provides.

Please bring a note or card to share your special thoughts and memories of their time in our fellowship and ministries together. We’ll gather with muffins, warm wishes, and prayer—sending them off on their new journey with the sweet reminder of how deeply they are loved and how much they will be missed.

August Memory Verse: The Wounded Healer

This month, our class turns its heart to Isaiah 53:5, a verse that captures the essence of Christ’s redeeming work: But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds. Isaiah 53:5 is the Gospel in one verse—pointing to the suffering Savior who bore our sin, secured our peace, and brought our healing. As you commit this verse to memory, take time to reflect on the personal cost of our salvation and the deep love of Christ that led Him to the cross. Let’s carry this truth with us into every conversation, every trial, and every opportunity to speak of the One who was pierced for us.
August Names of God Class Focus:
Yahweh Yireh — The Lord Will Provide

This month, our class explores the powerful name Yahweh Yireh, meaning “The Lord Will Provide.” This name was first spoken by Abraham after God provided a ram in place of Isaac on Mount Moriah (Genesis 22:14). It reminds us that God not only sees our needs but anticipates them—providing exactly what we need, when we need it. Whether you’re facing uncertainty, carrying a burden, or stepping into the unknown, let this name anchor your heart: Yahweh Yireh sees ahead and provides. Reflect on His faithfulness, and trust that the same God who provided for Abraham will provide for you.
Pronunciation Guide: Yahweh Yireh YAH-way YEER-eh
Yahweh (יְהוָה): “YAH-way” — Emphasis on the first syllable.
Yireh (יִרְאֶה): “YEER-eh” — First syllable rhymes with “deer,” and the second is a soft “eh,” like the “e” in “met.”
