Important Room Change This Sunday!

Foundations friends — please take note! This week our Class will meet in Room 258 instead of our usual space. The Choir Rehearsal Hall is being used in support of the Day of Baptism, as our church family celebrates this powerful time of testimony and new life in Christ taking place in the Worship Center.

Mark Your Calendars—Montrose Street Church Outreach October 30!
Join us on Thursday, October 30 at 6:00 PM as our class gathers at Montrose Street Church for a time of pre-event snacks, praise, and worship with the community. This is a wonderful opportunity to share Christ’s love in word and deed. Between now and then, let’s start collecting items that will bless the attendees:
  • Men’s tennis shoes (sizes 8–10)
  • Jackets
  • Honey buns
  • Oranges
Add this important date to your calendar and begin gathering these donations so we can bring encouragement, warmth, and hope to those we serve.

This month, our class is focusing on 1 Peter 1:3 — a powerful reminder of the living hope we have through Jesus Christ: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” As we celebrate the Day of Baptism and the new life it represents, this verse beautifully echoes the same truth — that our hope is alive because our Savior lives!

Overflowing Grace: At God’s Table in the Presence of Our Enemies

Sunday, Rand Wall led the Foundations Class through Psalm 23:5—“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

His lesson, titled “Overflowing Grace,” reminded us that God’s peace doesn’t wait for trouble to pass—it meets us right in the middle of it. Through heartfelt testimonies, personal stories, and vivid insights, Rand showed how the Lord not only protects and provides but also honors His people with grace that overflows. From Jesus’ calm at the Last Supper to a widow’s quiet joy on her birthday, each story pointed to a God who never forgets His own.

“Jesus isn’t just our Shepherd—He’s our Host,” Rand shared. “He fills our cup to overflowing so we can live from His abundance, not our emptiness.” It was a powerful reminder that even when enemies surround us, the Lord prepares a table of peace, purpose, and overflowing joy.

This Sunday, Bill Wright will lead our Foundations Class through Psalm 90:12
In a world that races ahead, this timeless verse calls us to slow down and live intentionally — not just counting our days, but making our days count. Bill will unpack how this passage helps us view time through God’s eternal lens, reminding us that each moment is a gift meant for purpose, gratitude, and spiritual growth. Come ready for a deeply reflective lesson that will challenge how we measure success and inspire us to invest our lives in what matters most — growing in wisdom and walking closely with the Lord.
