Future Grace Conversations:
A Yearlong Journey We’re Sharing Together

In 2026, the Foundations Class is stepping into a new, unhurried rhythm of reading and conversation centered on Future Grace by John Piper.

This initiative—Future Grace Conversations—is not a formal class study and not a structured discussion group. Instead, it’s an ongoing, year-long conversation we’ll share as we gather for fellowship, social events, and one-on-one time together. The goal is simple: to be on the same page, even if we’re not all at the same pace.

You can jump in at any point during the year. There’s no catching up required—just an open invitation to read, reflect, and join the conversation whenever the opportunity arises.

The full book is available here in the newsletter, or you may order a copy online and begin reading at your own pace.

February Focus – Section I (Chapters 1–3)
“A Foe to Faith in Future Grace

In the opening section, Piper challenges a subtle but powerful threat to our spiritual joy: living by faith in past grace while failing to trust God’s promises for the future. He argues that faith is not only rooted in what Christ has done, but also in confident hope for what God has promised to do.

These chapters invite us to examine where fear, anxiety, or self-reliance may quietly replace trust in God’s future grace—and how true Christian endurance is fueled by hope in what lies ahead, not merely reflection on what lies behind.

Whether you’ve already begun reading or are just opening the book, this is a great place to enter the conversation.

Looking Ahead Each month, we’ll highlight the current reading focus and provide a short summary of the previous section so everyone can feel connected to the conversation. This is meant to be life-giving, relational, and encouraging, not pressured or programmatic.

Pull up a chair. Open the book when you’re ready. And let’s enjoy this journey together!

Setting the Table: An Overview of Ecclesiastes

This week, Bill Wright will step back and help us see the whole landscape.

Bill will present an overview of Ecclesiastes, framing the book’s structure, purpose, and enduring message. With the themes already fresh in our minds, this overview will help everything begin to settle into place—showing how each passage fits within Solomon’s larger argument and how the book ultimately points us to a life anchored in God.

In many ways, this timing is a gift. We’ve already tasted the message from the opeing chapter—now we’re invited to receive a view of the whold book.

You won’t want to miss this foundational look at a book that calls us to wisdom, humility, and hope as we are moving from first impressions to deeper understanding, setting the foundation for a rich and rewarding study in the weeks to come.
