When Success Isn’t Enough

Carol Pierce | Ecclesiastes 2:12–26

This Sunday, Carol Pierce will guide us through one of the most honest and sobering reflections in Ecclesiastes. Solomon, at the height of power and accomplishment, confronts a startling truth: the wise and the fool share the same fate, achievements are eventually forgotten, and everything we build must one day be handed to another.

Yet this passage does not leave us in despair.

In the middle of Solomon’s frustration comes a quiet but powerful shift—true enjoyment, wisdom, and lasting joy are found not in accomplishment, but in the hand of God. Apart from Him, even success feels empty. With Him, even ordinary work becomes a gift.

For those of us who have lived long enough to build careers, raise families, and leave legacies, this lesson speaks directly to our season of life. What truly lasts? What really matters? Where is joy found now?

Come prepared to reflect, to think deeply, and to discover how God transforms toil into meaning and accomplishment into contentment.

Multiplying Joy Through Stewardship

This week’s opening class devotional focus on Chapter 3 of The Treasure Principle

Chapter 3: Compounding Joy.invites us to examine the “pronouns of the heart” by moving from mine to His. By releasing ownership and embracing stewardship, we discover that true joy begins to multiply.
