The Lord Is My Shepherd – Carol Pierce Launches Our Psalm 23 Study

This past Sunday, September 14, our new series on Psalm 23 began with Carol Pierce leading us through the very first verse: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Carol reminded us that this short but powerful verse holds two central themes—comfort and confident trust. David’s words point us to a God who is both Lord and Shepherd: the One in authority over our lives, and the One who personally provides, protects, and guides us. With warmth and depth, Carol shared how David’s life as both a king and a shepherd gave him unique insight into this truth—and how we, too, can rest in the Good Shepherd’s care when life is confusing or heavy. She reminded us that God supplies our needs, even when they look different from our wants, and that true peace comes from trusting Him completely. As Carol concluded, we were challenged to ask: Who is the Lord of your life? Are all your answers to Him “yes”?” What a powerful beginning to our study of one of the most beloved passages in Scripture. Join us next Sunday as we continue verse by verse through Psalm 23!

He Leads Me Beside Still Waters –
Bill Wright Teaches Psalm 23:2
This Sunday, September 21, Bill Wright will guide us into the second verse of Psalm 23: “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.” What does it truly mean to be led into rest and renewal by the Good Shepherd? How do green pastures and quiet waters speak into our hurried and often anxious lives today? Bill will help us see the deeper meaning of God’s provision—not just physical refreshment, but the spiritual peace our souls long for. Come ready to be encouraged and challenged as we continue our journey through this beloved psalm. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear how God restores and refreshes His people.
The next stop on the Men’s BBQ Trail is set for September 25 at 11:20 AM at Goode Co. BBQ, located at 8911 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024. Trail Boss Richard has lined up another mouthwatering adventure, so come hungry and ready for great food and even better fellowship. Whether you’re a BBQ enthusiast or just looking to connect with the group, this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy some Texas-style barbecue and share a few laughs. Don't miss out on the fun—mark your calendars and bring a friend!
