God Our Shepherd —
Yahweh Roi / Jehovah Raah

This month our Name of God focus is on the Shepherd — Yahweh Roi (or Jehovah Raah) — meaning “The Lord is My Shepherd.” What a comforting reminder that God not only leads and protects us, but knows each of us by name. As our Shepherd, He provides guidance, rest, and the assurance that we are never alone.

Our Scripture Memory Verse for October, 1 Peter 1:3, beautifully echoes that hope:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

As we continue our study of Psalm 23, may we rest in the truth that our Shepherd leads us beside still waters and gives us a living hope through His Son.

Through the Valley — Fearless with the Shepherd

Sunday October 5, Sam and Noel Gray led our Foundations Class through Psalm 23:4 — “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Together they explored how God’s presence transforms life’s darkest valleys into pathways of faith. With heartfelt insights and a husband-and-wife perspective, the Grays reminded us that the Good Shepherd never sends us through the valley alone — He walks beside us, guiding, guarding, and comforting every step of the way. If you missed this powerful lesson, take a few moments to watch the video and be encouraged to face your own valleys with courage and trust.

A Pause for Perspective — Carol Pierce Shares Fresh Insight This Sunday!

As we’ve been walking verse by verse through Psalm 23, this week we’ll take a short break in our study for a special time with Carol Pierce. Carol will be sharing one of her thoughtful insights into Scripture—a message that promises to refresh and encourage us right where we are. Her gentle wisdom and practical approach always help us see God’s Word in a new light. Join us Sunday for a meaningful time of reflection before we continue our journey through the Shepherd’s psalm.
